Dr. Sandra Steingraber, @ssteingraber1.bsky.social: Your reminder that fireworks create all the usual air pollution—sulfur dioxide and fine particulate matter, which is measured by the air quality index-but also seed the air with toxic metals (manganese, cadmium, aluminum). Poisoning our lungs with the waste products of fake bombs seems on brand Brad Johnson: Toxic plume from the fireworks barrage has poisoned the air around DC. Check air quality carefully this morning before going outside. Highest reading is 256 for PM2.5
