I totally understand this. But keep in mind, this is exactly the reason M Hoekstra was posted to Canada. He offends everyone, continuously. Which, if you want to prevent successful diplomatic relations with a country, is exactly the kind of … person to head your diplomatic team.
His job appears to be to make Canadians hate USians.
Probably so we will not be sympathetic or supportive of them. Or them with us. The easier to cause a row and justify an invasion.
