Canada, just a regular summer nowadays, … I guess.

BTW (for reference): Vancouver ist the latitude of Mannheim, Newfoundland is about the latitude of Hamburg. New York is roughly the latitude of Naples.

Image description (accessible version):

The image is a screenshot of an interactive Canadian wildfire monitoring map displayed in a web browser. The interface consists of a large map on the right and a control panel on the left.

The map shows nearly all of Canada covered with hundreds of colored circles of varying sizes, each representing an active wildfire. The colors indicate the fire’s status:

* Red: Out of control
* Yellow: Being held
* Blue: Under control
* Purple: Out of control (monitored)

The size of each circle represents the fire’s estimated area:

* Small: 0–100 hectares
* Medium: 100–1,000 hectares
* Large: More than 1,000 hectares

Wildfires are concentrated across northern and central Canada. Large clusters of red and purple circles are visible in the Northwest Territories, northern Alberta and Saskatchewan, around Hudson Bay, and across parts of Québec and Labrador. Southern Canada, particularly along the U.S. border, has noticeably fewer wildfire markers.

The map background is shaded in different colors, including blue, pale yellow, orange, and red, indicating an additional thematic layer. However, the screenshot does not provide a legend explaining what these background colors represent.

The left-hand panel is titled “Layers” and is shown in Advanced View. The selected basemap is OpenStreetMap, and the Active Wildland Fires layer is enabled. The data are marked as valid for 5 July 2026 (UTC). The panel also includes a legend explaining the wildfire status colors and circle sizes.

On the right side of the screen are standard map controls, including search, zoom, fullscreen, and navigation tools. A small overview map appears in the upper-right corner, and a scale bar in the lower-right corner indicates a distance of 1,000 km.
