I tried and failed to take a photo of the skyline, but think I like the accidental snap better.

Profile pic: Me, white, dark shortish hair, tallish, emerging from a tunnel, smiling, happy, wearing a bright red leopard-print dress because that’s the sort of thing a woman in her 50s can happily wear because who cares.

The only thing more nerve-wracking than watching people clamber around 60 metres above the ground – posting about it on Mastodon with no idea if I’m throwing around the right nautical terms in the alt text. Masts. Mast-climbers. Climbing. Clambering. Cables. Ropes. Rigging. Who knows.

The mast-climbers at the Tall Ships Race drew as much admiration as the ships.
Bike bloat. Unlike car bloat, it's a good thing. Bigger bikes with wide handlebars and child seats and shopping baskets and cargo trailers and people carriers. Safe, functional everyday transport. Better, quicker, nicer, quieter, healthier and more likely to make you smile and say ‘whee!’ going downhill than a car.
One downside: bike rack design is lagging behind. Bike park engineers still design racks with narrow spaces as if we’re all just sporting around for fun on slim racer bikes.
@rgulick This is such an amazing thing to nitpick at that I'm wondering if it's deliberate. They're openly marching down roads cos-playing stormtroopers. Sitting on public transport in their openly 2026-Nazi uniforms. Posting clips of themselves online. At no point fearing the the law will stop them or arrest them. Because it's been normalised. The masks probably make them feel villainous, cos-playing hard men, while hiding their faces from employers.
I'm Generation X. I resent having to drink water, let alone this much.
