#FlowerFriday we’ve got some type of wildflower with a spicy fly (paper wasp) adorning the top of it. I like how its antennae are swooped down like hooks. Maybe it’s using them to sample the nectar?

#SilentSunday Thank you to everyone for your heartfelt replies. They mean a lot to me. She passed peacefully this morning. I’m glad I could be there with her. I’m sad but also relieved that she isn’t suffering anymore. Now comes the time for emotional healing for my family and myself. I love you all and the supportive community that we have here. Again thank you, and hopefully soon I can get back out there and take more bug portraits. 🥰 ✌️

#SilentSunday Ya know, Dementia is a hell of a disease. It takes your loved ones and leaves their body behind. My Mom got diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s almost 10 years ago. It’s been a long time since she’s remembered who I am. But that’s okay. She was a good mother to me. I have many fond memories of my childhood like her taking me to the playground or lighting the candles on one of my birthday cakes. So as I sit with her in hospice, I want to dedicate this post to all the wonderful moms out there that teach, nurture, and guide us to become who we are. And if you haven’t talked to your parents in a while, make sure you do so soon. You never know when you won’t have the chance anymore.
