A pale blue gray sky with dark purple gray clouds drifting past. The horizon and the edges of nearby clouds are tinted gold, orange and yellow by the setting sun. We are standing atop a cliff top of light gray rock streaked with darker gray lichen. The rocky ground is sprinkled with weather-beaten pines and leafy shrubs just beginning to turn gold for autumn. A few hundred feet below are the outskirts of a small city, a series of low, mostly wooded rolling ridges with a factory and a few other buildings poking through. A few miles off is a slice of a more built-up portion of the city near the golden horizon.
