The study prepared by researcher Islam Al Khatib titled (Militarized Industrial Policy and Israeli Surveillance Firms) through the 7amleh Center indicates that Israel uses Palestinians as a laboratory to test comprehensive digital surveillance tools, exploiting Israeli violence against Palestinians.
These companies adopt a military discourse when addressing security agencies, focusing on the competence of their founders and their combat experience. They adopt a civilian discourse when addressing Western governments and public opinion, focusing on “privacy” and “ethical artificial intelligence”.
The aim of this contradiction is to legitimize repressive tools and make them acceptable and marketable in global markets.
