Throughout my lifetime, politicians have become increasingly short-sighted, once upon a time they worried about reelection, now even that doesn't seem to be a concern .
Today's elected officials have tunnel vision and filtered hearing, they see and listen to demands from the wealthiest, anyone outside that group simply doesn't exist, or if they manage to make enough noise, is slightly bothersome, like walking through a cloud of gnats, to be brushed off.
