@fps_gbg @landdertiere My gymnasium (high school) biology teacher did his PhD in pig ethology. He let out tame pigs into the wild and studied how they built nests. The sad thing is that tame pigs build nests that are too small for them, because they haven't fully genetically adapted to being larger.

Det är ju synd om alla som blir utvisade, men jag har lite svårt att bry mig särskilt mycket om de som utvisas till Storbritannien när vi har personer som utvisas till fängelse och död.

@joho För många år sedan hade KTH en e-postlösning on prem som var helt opensourcebaserad. Sedan lyckades Microsoft sälja in Exchange. Det här är helt i samma riktning, och en hel del serverdrift på KTH har gått i den riktningen ett bra tag, utan någon större analys om vad det får för följder. Jag vet inte hur många år det kördes Google Analytics, till och med på inloggade högsäkerhetssidor.

Det handlar alltså om att se till att "rätt människor" får födas och bo i ett land, samtidigt som man håller bort andra från landet i syfte att "hålla rasen ren", även om det inte uttrycks så i offentligheten i Sverige. Bakom stängda dörrar och i USA är det dock fortfarande det som sägs i vitmaktkretsar.

Jag skriver explicit att det är diskursen om fallande födelsetal som är grundad i rasism.

Att prata om att det ”egna folkets” födelsetal sjunker som ett problem är ett resonemang som är väldigt nära knutet till rashygien.

Och att svenska födelsetal diskuteras som ett problem utan att säga något om invandringspolitiken är i bästa fall undfallenhet mot rasisterna.

The Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter writes about lower birth rates in Sweden. They mention the potential problems with a shrinking population, and that there might actually be benefits.

The word ”immigration” is mentioned only twice, once in the description of how birth rate affects population size, and once as ”despite immigration from outside Europe”.

Not once problematising that the whole discourse on falling birth rates is founded in racism.

@davidsirota There is a very big difference between promising to vote a certain way and working towards certain goals on the one hand, and promising to achieve legislative results on the other.

Taken to the extreme, your way of phrasing it would make a politician responsible for legislative decisions even if they weren't even elected, as long as they got at least one vote.

@avlcharlie @RuthMalan @dahukanna When dictating, this is a real problem. On the other hand, when transcribing what others say, I find that almost any quality is better than nothing, as it gives me a structure to start from.

But then the goal is to accurately represent what someone else has said, not a creative task in the same way as writing a text is. It can still involve creative decisions, but they are inside the structure that someone else created, so it’s two very different tasks.
