Two people and two dogs are hiking on a saddle ridge in weird badlands terrain: the ground is soft loosely consolidated tuff or maybe pumice, with a little bit of scrubby grass and juniper here and there; the pumice has bee sculpted into a network of knife-sharp curving ridges and peaks.
