@fdroidorg so i don't mean to be 'that person' but, as far as I can tell this doesn't affect fdroid as much as I initially thought.

for one, this shouldn't apply to FOSS ROMs like Lineage/Graphene/etc.

It's a mechanism purely employed by the Play store, and only on 'Google Certified' ROMs, and even on there you can just enable 'unverified installs' indefinitely, it just takes 24h to enable, and warns you with every install, which is annoying, but not impossible.
