Feels weirdly identical to the TERF/MAGA pipeline where a person "facts and logics" themselves into deeper levels of bullshit. At each level, they burn social connections only leaving increasingly toxic individuals around them. Eventually they are too deep in the shit and only have rancid friends and will probably never dig themselves out of that hole.

As someone that had a little skeptictuber alt-right pipeline ride as a teenager, the pattern is concerningly identical.
@andnull And when you consider a lot of the people at the center see this in a religious sense where they must do everything they can to birth the machine god, that mindset becomes even more apparent.
And like many recruitment techniques it preys on your belief in your superior intellect or skill, and if there's any group of people who have grossly overinflated senses of their skills, it's programmers.

@chimerror for real, and also like, it's clear LLMs operate like a dynamic automated QAnon conspiracy. The system morphs into whatever desire or fear you hold in your heart. And if you can't tell that happened, well, it's over.
It's why I have such a strict policy of blocking anyone suggesting LLM are useful. I cannot let the machine find my key and turn it.
