This is my Mastodon dating and friendship post. I will begin with what I want in a partner and/or friend and then explain a bit about myself. I am also considering this a second #introduction.
Georgiana Brummell is not my legal name, but it is what I use. I live in New Jersey and am forty-two years old. I am seeking a man over sixty (most likely over seventy) who is well-educated, well-dressed, confident, and witty. You should appreciate the finer things in life and strive for them when possible, but you need not be rich. I would prefer you to either live in or near New Jersey or to be able to visit me frequently if you don't, unless we are just friends with benefits. No married men (or those in monogamous relationships), one-night stands, parents/caregivers, workaholics, or recreational drug users. I am open to both fun with no strings attached and a committed relationship, but I must get to know you first. I also take sexual safety very seriously, so if we're just casual and have several partners, condoms will be used.
For platonic friends, I am a lot more lenient. You can be either a man or a woman, should be over twenty-one, and should share at least some of my interests. You don't have to be single or live in or near New Jersey, though if you do, we could go places together.
I love wit, wordplay, and dry humour without vulgarity. This doesn't mean I don't enjoy adult fun. I am happily childfree, an atheist, and against political correctness in speech and writing. I also love cats. Some of my interests include studying dandyism, nineteenth-century English grammar, Upper Received Pronunciation, the Italian language, history (mostly European), and the Regency. I enjoy coffee, tea, wine, cooking, reading, nature and historical documentaries, antiques, gardening, hot weather, relaxing in the pool), and playing cards and dice. I love opera, particularly singers from the 1940-s and earlier, and enjoy classical music from Baroque through early Romantic, and popular music from the 1950's through the 1970's. I prefer antique menswear and accessories (no makeup or feminine clothing).
I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity. Please note that I have no understanding of depression, anxiety, mental illness, low self-esteem, etc. I also have no interest in politics or world affairs. I do, however, have HSV-1, and was diagnosed many years ago, though I haven't been with anyone since then. It's estimated that fifty-eight percent of people in the United States also have it and many contracted it during childhood (check Wikipedia). I believe in honesty first and foremost, and I finally decided to write it in my profile rather than be awkward about it later.
