For my new followers: this year I finished designing and sewing this series of four wall quilts inspired by the four movements in Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt symphonic suite (you absolutely know the tunes for #1 and #4). One shape per bar of music, the chord determines the colour. "Morning Mood". Rectangular wall quilt with hexagonal tiles laid out to resemble colourful clouds against a blue sky. Some lapel pins dot the background.

"Ase's Death". Rectangular wall quilt with several horizontal bands in colourful gradients. They are organized to suggest a phone text conversation.
ALT
"Anitra's Dance". Rectangular wall quilt made of tiled triangles. They are arranged to fill a spacj with a meandering line. There are triangular rhinestones and there is wavy metallic embroidery.
ALT
"In the Hall of the Mountain King". Rectangular wall quilt which looks a bit like a step pyramid, or maybe a top-down view of a xylophone. Each row gets progressively bigger and brighter until there are starburst explosions in the last three rows.

“Piano Man” as an allegory of working in IT support.

• The old man assigns you a task with no specifics, no metrics, and this is your fault.

• John has delusions of grandeur, always looking to jump ship but there don’t seem to be any job openings in the movie industry.

• Paul and Davy who are lifers in the military-industrial complex, existing in a bubble and interacting with no one else.

• The one woman in the room is employed in a menial service role for which she is vastly overqualified.

• If it wasn’t for the substance abuse, nothing would ever get done.

• Manager knows exactly who is keeping the company afloat (you) but you still need a side hustle (tip jar) to make a living.

• Pervasive cacophony and unpleasant odours.
