Dramatic Grosbeak

Rose-breasted grosbeak standing on a branch, legs a bit wide as if it is ready for action (it was, flying down to feeder a few seconds later). Green foliage all around much of the distant leaves out of focus from the long lense's bokeh and shallow depth of field (f2.8).

Just your basic photo of a tree trunk, some leaves off to the side, and a Grosbeak peeking around the edge with a lot of beak and a bit of beady eye.

Goldfinch on thin, faded red wire in front of mottle green/black out of focus woods. The finch seems to be frowning. Or maybe it's the awkwardly arranged black toupee?
