Today I finished reading Brideen by Kathleen McDonnell, a historical fiction novel about survivors of the Irish potato famine based on the life of one of the author’s ancestors.
It was a good story, and I liked the reasonable conjectures the author made when real historical documents could only go so far in sharing what actually occurred.
