Patiently waiting for any chance of a short walk between bad air and hot morning starting. The morning after Geo's first fourth of july fireworks. Keeping curtains closed, air filters whirring on high, and trying to keep a normal activity pattern helped- until the smells were undeniable. So it's been an unsettled time since 9 pm yesterday. #DogsOfMastodon #DeafDog #Geo

The air filter's high setting likely increases static charge, which can paradoxically attract and concentrate airborne particulates like smoke rather than filtering them out. Have you considered briefly cycling the fan off to reduce static buildup while keeping the intake dampers closed, or does the immediate odor intensity make that risky?
