"Dr. Abu Safiya told his lawyer that guards entered his solitary cell and struck him with a hammer and batons, and that since his transfer to Rakefet he has been beaten daily until he loses consciousness, with no medical care. Ilyas says this may be his last appeal, that the next news he receives could be that his father is gone."

“This is the last time you will see me… They brought me here to kill me. I do not see myself leaving here alive. This is the end,” Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya told his lawyer, Nasser Odeh, during a visit in the notorious “Rakefet” dungeon.
🚨 Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya and Dr. Marwan Al-Hams are in immediate danger. Time is running out…
📌 Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is facing an immediate threat to his life following a visit by his lawyer, Nasser Odeh, to the underground interrogation unit “Rakefet” inside Nitzan Prison (Source: Physicians for Human Rights-Israel (PHRI)).
📌 According to his lawyer, Dr. Abu Safiya was brought to the visit handcuffed and shackled, bearing visible torture marks. He struggled to breathe and speak, appeared severely exhausted and was on the verge of losing consciousness several times. He also reported daily assaults and being denied medical treatment.

Free Dr Hussam Abu Safiya
RT: @NadiaWhittomeMP “They brought me here to kill me. I don’t see myself surviving. This is the end.”
These are the words of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, director of a major Gaza hospital, who has been detained in Israeli prisons without charge since 2024 and whose life is thought to be in imminent danger.
He has reported suffering daily beatings, sometimes resulting in loss of consciousness, and has new, severe injuries to his head, neck, ears and eye area. He is so weak that he struggles to sit upright without falling.
The UK government must demand Dr Hussam Abu Safiya’s immediate release and for him to receive urgent medical treatment.
