If anyone else is working with and ASUS/ROG motherboard with the external USB Hive sound module then if the Hive isn't working for you and pluging the Hive into the bordered or labelled "ROG STRIX HIVE" USB port results in zero device recognition (and a missing Realtek USB Audio endpoint), try the immediate neighbouring USB port.
The internal routing for the modular audio hardware sometimes seems to be wired to the motherboard USB port next to the text graphic due to tight rear I/O spacing on ITX boards 🤔
