I think Canadians outside Ontario sometimes have trouble grokking just how big Toronto and its suburbs really are.

The GTA's population has just passed 7M. That's over a million more people than there are in all of British Columbia, and nearly as many as in the three Prairie provinces combined.

But still, the GTA contains well under half of Ontario's total population.

That huge population imbalance creates many grievances across Canada, some legit, some facetious. And it makes life easier for western separatists, who can ignore the population difference and misleadingly claim that Ontario gets more than its "fair share" (of whatever).

@david_megginson reading your post made me think maybe I should relocate to somewhere else.

It is not a surprise that people who complain about being unemployed are all from the GTA.

Also whenever you want to move to Canada from another country, the most flights end up in Toronto instead of other airports so this is also a cause.

I would like to move to another city too but I am a newcomer, and I am afraid of moving to another city without government support.

I think it is not wrong to hope for more job opportunities outside of GTA. Like entry level ones.
