watching INDEPENDENCE DAY, the #DieHard of the #4thOfJuly, as one should

this movie, by the way, has one of the first women Chiefs of Staff that isn't some love interest for #POTUS

notice that the #POTUS is a mashup of Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. there is nothing #GOP #Republican about him. on the contrary, the politician that appears in the Roll Call tv shot is the very embodiment of Newt Gingrichβs new KKK-Moral "Majority" (they never have been)

btw this movie was scandalous and triggered the pre-MAGA GOP because it promotes a USA with a βminority majorityβ; including the ethnic βwhitesβ as embodied by Jeff Goldblum and his dad, Judd Hirsch.
a lot of zionists got their panties in a bunch for their very New York, very non-European looking Jewishness.

Bill Pullman really cosplayed Clinton for this movie, down to the way he cocks his head when doing his seriously concerned voice

Randy Quaid was really never the same after this movie, wasnβt he?

btw
if every accusation is a confession, and given corporatists have always run #Hollywood, we really need to look at the alien invaders as predatory #techbros from another planet
just sayin'

Michael Bay has cosplayed Roland Emmerich all his life. Independence Day was written and directed by Emmerich

i cannot express the amount of #GOP #Republican meltdowns over the bombing of the White House.
the bombing was one of the best kept secrets in Hollywood. it took us all by surprise on opening day.

OMG so many applauded here in #nyc

another Hollywood stereotype broken in this movie: Black people pet owners. very rare to see a Black family in a movie that wasn't about Black people and even rarer to see them owning a pet.

@blogdiva I absolutely loved how they slipped a broad multicultural view of the world, and the US, in particular, into an alien invasion summer flick. It echoes some themes of the original The Day the Earth Stood Still and other early, progressive Sci-Fi
