If you wanted to wake a child up with an alarm clock that played your choice of music.. how would you do that, if you didn't have a spare smartphone lying around? Would you DIY something along the raspberry pi line? Do you know of an off the shelf alarm clock that would work?
Bonus points for either very cheap, or not so cheap but like ... Ethical in an open source kinda way?
(I have been looking at off the shelf options and getting exactly nowhere)

@3TomatoesShort The portable radio and bluetooth speaker I have velcroed to my wall by my bed (an 'XHDATA D-109' apparently) lets you play stuff from an SD card instead of radio or beeps for its alarms, so I would probably use that https://www.manualslib.com/manual/3011791/Xhdata-D-109.html?page=11#manual
