I just downloaded Nfb Newsline version 4.0 on my iPhone. I haven't tried the update, but I thank all those who developed and updated the app. #NFB26

@douglas2005 Hmm, wait, I just opened NFB Newsline on my iPhone and it told me where I was and alerted me to the excessive heat advisory that I was just notified about via another source; my point being that I may somehow already have access to 4.0.

@JohnMcCann Hey John, if you go into settings and about, you'll find the version that you currently have loaded. You'll also see other items in settings that didn't used to be there, such as travel mode. Hope you've got the right version.

@douglas2005 Actually, come to find out, I don't. I'm still on some variant of version 3.1.

@JohnMcCann These updates roll out sometimes. On some apps, I've got updates a day after Christine got them.

@douglas2005 In other news, since I'm sure you're not on the Blind Hams list, there's been lots of discussion there about a new software defined radio, (SDR): the MLite 880 for $200. I have one on order and it should be here in the next two or three days. I mention it to you because it has a lot of options for filtering and tayloring bandwidths, so I think it might be an excellent radio for FM DX-ing assuming it's reasonably sensitive.

@JohnMcCann John, I am very interested in that radio. When you get it, I'll be real curious to see what you find out about it. I asked a sighted person about whether a blind person could operate that radio and he didn't seem to think so. I hope you prove that wrong.

@douglas2005 A blind person can operate that radio as you can enter frequencies directly, but some aspects of its operation may be tricky for a blind person. I'll give you a report once it's in my hands.

@JohnMcCann Thank you. Can't wait!
