@CursedSilicon This reminds me of the time I got my first Linux CD, in the mid 90s. Some version of Slackware with a 0.x kernel. There weren't loadable moduldes, you had to build a kernel for your hardware. And there was no 'make menuconfig', you had to go through like 1000 questions and if you didn't know some IO port, you had to do it all over again.
And the build took 2 days on my 386 SX16, even overclocked at 20 MHz.
