This last yearly CPR recertification, the fire department told me the grim facts that it will keep the person alive at least until they make it to the hospital, but the survival past two weeks is mostly unlikely. I just checked the statistics to confirm what they said.

"10.5% of patients survived to hospital discharge."

My pm2.5 meter in the house is almost always at 1. When I opened up the door this morning, it went up to 30.

For comparison, when I use hairspray in coughing concentrations, it goes up to about 15 to 20. The air filtration brings it back down to 1 in half an hour...

Since I'm far from the ocean shores, I made my own water from air system, but it required 4KWh for every two liters of water. I may have effectively unlimited solar power, but cleaning the evaporation unit is labor intensive and requires a supply of citric acid.

One of the best mentors I worked with started repairing the forklift battery trays and welding new slides in the lifts. The fumes from vaporizing lead into the welds did not impact structural integrity of the steel, but the body absorbs lead like calcium. The nervous system seems to struggle with lead as a calcium replacement. He made it one month before his mental facilities were no longer compatible with employment or the legal system. He passed away a year later. AI seems to be that same road in a way, taking the lives of motivated people and turning their minds into slop.

So easy to get a disabling dose of lead poisoning from a single exposure. Working around lead acid batteries and forklifts, breathing any of that white dust. Not washing hands before eating a candy bar with that sweet white lead oxide powder on the fingers. Working in plastics production, heat or fire resistant plastics almost always have lead, antimony, or both. Electrical wire, PVC, probably has it, from experience as someone who maintained the extruders that made it. I know why they use it, as yellowed brittle plastics don't have it. Lead makes people go absolute batshit crazy in about two months. AI seems to have that ability too.

As someone that maintained manufacturing plants for 30 years, I knew at least a dozen of the best people I worked with that succumbed to lead poisoning. It was total destruction of their lives and families. AI gives me that same dreadful feeling of the future...
