@Mwritter an OCR is not a LLM, you're right. But it's so easier to use a LLM instead of an OCR : why take the risk ? It's better to write the alts ourselves.

@Mwritter my opinion is that if we don't write the alts by ourselves, we're forcing people that need them to use the tools we despise to compensate.
For each alt we're writing by ourselves, that's potentially several LLMs queries that won't be done.
@Mwritter May I suggest to add an alt to the image ? It will make it available to everyone.

Google managers claimed to love their (scarce, valuable) coders, but the instant it became feasible to start firing them, they did. (Next sentence is underline by the book's owner). In the space of just a few months, Google declared its first dividend, fired twelve thousand workers (including many of its most senior — and thus most mouthy — technical staff), and declared a $70 billion stock buyback, which would have paid those workers' wages for the next twenty-seven years. (Written after the paragraph: "Motherfuckers")
Ever since, Google's top managers have issued a steady stream of pronouncements about a) how hard its remaining coders are expected to work ("Sixty hours a week is optimal" — Google cofounder and Alphabet president Sergey Brin), and b) how many coders it will shortly be replacing with chatbots.
