Everybody out on that water is benefiting in immediate and quantifiable ways from the "left-wing" "politics" of the Seegers.

A sailboat, the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, was removed from the Sail4th 250 Parade of Ships for displaying banners about climate justice and clean water.

@joelvanderwerf The first live music concert I went to was when my parents took us to Hudson NY to see Pete Seeger and that sloop. The music! The message! It was a defining moment for me. My parents were GOP and the GOP then was the party that was concerned about our responsibility for stewardship of Earth. Looking back now, the strangest thing is how so many people retained their party identity even as the party platform changed. I for one stuck with Pete's message.
