Ah yes, there are the bathrooms, the bedrooms, and the unexplained attic room with the spike and rope.

@weirdestate the "rope" is a pipe lagged with some sort of brown fibre material. No idea about the spike, though, perhaps someone made some haphazard structural modifications.

@synx508 okay then, unexplained sagging pipe

@weirdestate @synx508
Given the age of the building, the pipe is a post-install hot water feed. The spike is likely a remnant king post that was partially removed during a roof rebuild.
Why that area is lit is something of a mystery.
@rdm @weirdestate @synx508
It’s lit so that you can see when you go up there.
@rdm @weirdestate @synx508 You’d want the loft space well lit if you were using it for storage. Go blundering about up there with a torch in the dark and you might sit on that spike…

@weirdestate that's quite some house! With added suits of armour.
... And right next to Gatwick! I don't think so.

@patrickhadfield @weirdestate Yeah, lord only knows why they built it so close to the airport 😉

@weirdestate that’s frankly a stunning property and the gardens are just gorgeous. Wow.
