If the facilities are part of the carriageway, they are cycle *lanes*, not paths.
The latter are off-highway.

@wood5y Cycle lanes are car infrastructure. If the streets weren't overrun by speeding two-tonne murder machines, cycle lanes on roads wouldn't be needed.
Until then, they should be separated by raised curbs or bollards. But never forget, they are a bandaid for broken cities 🤷♂️

Cities have been around for millennia. They have usually been broken in some way throughout all their history.
This is just a recent development in their borkage.
