I get the impression that the way Classical literature is taught in China is just absolutely miserable and makes everyone hate it, even the people who are otherwise passionate about language, culture and history. Which is, of course, exactly how I feel about American literature

@0xabad1dea Makes me think of russian literature lessons, where the only time a poem would be introduced was if you are expected to memorize it and recite it in front of the class.
A great way to vaccinate kids against poetry.
