Campbelltown Council is really into painting dead bikes on the road. In all sorts of places, not just like this "LOOK OUT you might die here, we built the road specially for that".

@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8 Cascade Bicycle Club in Seattle has a free ride that starts in various locations depending on desired speed. They all end at a senior center that makes homemade pies that they sell by the slice. It's a fun thing to do Wednesday around lunch time.

This morning I saw the model pterosaur hanging from the ceiling at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. This model was designed by a young woman who is a friend and former classmate of my son, and the daughter of one of my cycling friends. This talented woman has also designed the reverse of several of the recent USA quarter dollar coins.

@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8 Among things we saw the past week: Last Saturday, bike boxes at several intersections in Salinas, the Monterey County seat and its largest city. Short of bikeways with a physical barrier, bike boxes at intersections are some of our favorite infrastructure. We want EVERY appropriate intersection in our county to have them.

A8. I saw the underside of some bike seats!
Was on aliexpress and a random gopro mount adapter was in list that “attached to seat screws”. Seat screws? Checked my trek/bontrager’s seat and sure enough two (M5?) screw holes.
Checked another bike’s Ergon seat and it had a Topeak Quick-Click adapter.
What else is out there??

The mango tree is a global warming indicator; they would not grow here when I was a kid, and now they're common.
