@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8:
This morning I saw the model pterosaur hanging from the ceiling at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. This model was designed by a young woman who is a friend and former classmate of my son, and the daughter of one of my cycling friends. This talented woman has also designed the reverse of several of the recent USA quarter dollar coins.

@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A8 Among things we saw the past week: Last Saturday, bike boxes at several intersections in Salinas, the Monterey County seat and its largest city. Short of bikeways with a physical barrier, bike boxes at intersections are some of our favorite infrastructure. We want EVERY appropriate intersection in our county to have them.

Bike box on Lincoln at West Alisal, Salinas.

@ascentale @bikenite A8 #BikeNite From Florida:

It's video, it's baby armadillos, they're SO CUTE.

The mango tree is a global warming indicator; they would not grow here when I was a kid, and now they're common.

If anyone would buy a cybertruck, it would be a Florida Man, and of course he would paint it orange, since it is a rolling hazard.

For your amusement, the treeducken.

Looking up at a mango tree and a buttload of mangoes on it that are not quite ripe (we picked one up that had fallen in the street and it was pretty hard).

A sensible (old) black Ford Ranger on the left and a ridiculous orange CyberTruck on the left, in a parking lot in Wesley Chapel, Florida, where I was buying glue at the closest hardware store, a mere 7 miles from my late father-in-law's home.

A hefty live oak with a multitrunked, not small, camphor tree growing out of the slightly rotted scar from a long-ago fallen limb of the oak tree. A palm tree is also crowding into the picture.
