The statue was modeled after a white woman. The going theory is that the model was the artist's mother. I can only imagine that had the artist used a black woman as his model, it would not have been received well and probably even rejected. But, yes, by rights it should be a black woman.

Of course not. They know it's shameful, but they're not ashamed, they're cowards. Folks on the left go out and protest despite the danger. These cowards only show up when they think it's safe for them to do so, and they still hide their identities.
