Ever since I learned to fold fitted sheets, I still get a great sense of joy when I manage to get one to line up pretty well.
It's not even that hard, but it feels like sorcery until you know the trick.

Do you know how to fold fitted sheets?

@mayintoronto I said self-taught, but I learned from a book. You know, printed on paper.

@steggy Paper?!?! :o

@mayintoronto yeah, so they used to print out a whole bunch of stuff on a topic to small pieces of paper (called pages) and then stick them together on one side so you could turn the pages. Imagine if like a web page was printed on paper.

I remember my old library had an old fashioned cross reference. Think card catalogue cards, but with topics instead of authors. It was the original "going down a Wikipedia rabbit hole".

The best method of storing a fitted sheet is to take the matching top sheet and fold it neatly, then insert it into a matching pillowcase along with any other pillowcases, then take the fitted sheet, roll it up from one end and shove it into the pillowcase containing the top sheet.
Looks tidy and no one knows it's not folded.
Easy peas, no muss, no fuss.

@TrueNorthSpice @deborahh @mayintoronto I technically know how to fold a fitted sheet so it ends up flat, but what I actually do is this little kit in the pillowcase. It's better 👍

@TrueNorthSpice@mastodon.world @mayintoronto@beige.party yesss, I also roll my sheets into little sushi rolls

Really? That's interesting. :)
Rolling linens also provides added storage space, that's why I do the same with towels

@TrueNorthSpice @mayintoronto I do this only I fold the fitted sheet. Whilst stored in the pillow case no one asks me how it got folded. Out of sight, out of mind.

@mayintoronto I choose sorcery.
Magic wand 🪄, done!

@mayintoronto When I learned it "the internet" was known as ARPANET and I had no access. But I guess folding fitted sheets was no relevant content there.

I think I know but am rubbish at it, my wife knows self taught (although as an ex A&E nurse she may have been taught).
It's safer for all concerned if I treat as sorcery that cannot be done.

@mayintoronto This guy got around 700 people to come out and watch him fold a fitted sheet.
"Comedian Dan Boerman arrived in Wellington jetlagged and delirious, but he had a plan. On Monday afternoon, in front of a raucous crowd on Cuba Street, he would perform his ability to fold a fitted sheet to all."

@exlibrarykris @mayintoronto I love this so much. I need more news like this in my life 😁

@mayintoronto Martha Stewart tried, and I failed. It feels like I lack the spatial ability to manage the first steps.
