@BlueWaver22 I don’t know why you care what a random stranger on the internet who you don’t know thinks.
Enjoy being mad!

@JonChevreau @BlueWaver22 exactly.

@BlueWaver22 @JonChevreau no, its not the first time FIFA has ever rescinded a red card in World Cup history. It’s the second awarded during the World Cup and rescinded.
Do I even follow soccer? Yes, and I have worked in the sport as well.

@BlueWaver22 @JonChevreau why would I do that to this team? I’m pretty sure nothing about my feelings is going to impact the team lol.
However, I’m not rooting for corruption. Ever. Not in the favor of people I like and not against them. And I am really never rooting in favor of Trump’s corruption.

@JonChevreau as an American, it’s a little different position for me (I believe you’re Canadian?). But in any case in men’s soccer/fútbol, my main team is Spain 🇪🇸 (where I live and how I got into fútbol, when I was a teen). So as long as Spain wins tomorrow night (🤞), I would be rooting for Spain to win the next match anyway.

@kaffando just because he wants to be doesn’t mean others have to do as he says.
Trump makes a call to his amiguito Infantino, pushing for Balogun’s red card/one-game suspension to be overturned, and voila, Balogun can play tomorrow night.
It’s just gross, and kinda makes me want to root against the U.S., even though it’s not the players’ fault and I also don’t really like Belgium.
Also, ironic he is pushing to get back a player he doesn’t think is a citizen. I guess he’s stopping the birthright citizenship fight??

www.nytimes.comTrump Asked FIFA to Review U.S. Player’s Suspension. Now He’s Eligible to Play.The reversal of Folarin Balogun’s World Cup suspension is highly unusual. It was the first time since 1962 that FIFA has nullified a suspension for a red card received during the World Cup.An excellent editorial in @inquirer.com: the nation’s soul hangs in the balance on 250th anniversary of U.S.
The American dream is out of reach for many, & the nation still lives in the shadow of slavery. The ideals are laudatory, but reality leaves much to be desired.
