I am doing references in my thesis, there is one source that is not written in English but in German and I wanted to use it because it is the primary source. However, I have not read it and cannot read it. Other scholars have talked about it, should I use those instead? (There is no English translation as far as I know) Glaser, H. (1958). @SeaFury Is there anyone in your school or institution who could translate it for you? I know you can already “read” it thanks to translation platforms but I’ve definitely seen matrix references (where your single reference itself has I guess sub-references?).

@SeaFury My grandfather’s thesis for one of his PhDs was a treatise on (I kid you not) the minor third (in music theory) and a ton of his references were in German — some of them old high German and these themselves had research citations.
