@Axolotl1 Me? Since 1995. Redhat 5.3. These days, I recommend people start with a fairly complex distribution like Arch linux, because it kinda forces you to learn how the OS _actually_ works. If you just want a free OS to just _use_ Mint is great, but if you actually want to LEARN it, take the challenge up, and start with Arch

@Axolotl1 do you still have windows installed? this is a long shot but try going into the old control panel and checking power options for "change what the power buttons do" and then see if fast boot is turned on. if it's on, you wifi card won't turn off when you turn off your computer and because it's already "on" for windows when mint boots it can't use it
