I’m usually of the opinion that Someone who needs alt should use some tool to read it. I don’t like giving training data to AIs. But sure, I could be wrong. Usually my alt for book quotes is just the text.

@Mwritter my opinion is that if we don't write the alts by ourselves, we're forcing people that need them to use the tools we despise to compensate.

For each alt we're writing by ourselves, that's potentially several LLMs queries that won't be done.

@orange_lux a tool that reads text in a photo has nothing to do with an LLM, at least a tool that works. You’re confusing your friend for your enemy.
