1. I'm feeling pretty normal today, including no fever.
2. Joule, my husband, and I walked just over half a mile this morning without my hip complaining too much.
3. I got the numbers waffle.

Good morning, Mastodon friends!
Well, the neighborhood racket finally ended at about 11:45 last night. Joule seems back to normal this morning, and she, my husband, and I walked around the block (a little over half a mile) in a pleasant temperature. My hip got twingy but not bad.
I ate nothing but white bread yesterday, and my system seems to have settled down. Am I brave enough for a bowl of oatmeal this morning? I think so.
And I think I'll be safe to leave the house long enough to pick up prescriptions and groceries.
The Zoom conversation yesterday with my sister and our four cousins was interesting and fun, and I was grateful just to be here for it. When we did it last July 4th, I'd been diagnosed with cancer but was still waiting for the first oncologist appointment. I really didn't expect to be around for another year.
Have a safe day, all, and never give up

@Skwerlgyrl Joule is doing better than previous Fourths. She's staying in her crate in the basement but doesn't seem panicky, and she even has been working away at a frozen kong during the city's fireworks show.
Lactium seems to work better for her than other calming supplements, and she's been getting it in her breakfast and dinner for the last several days. Lactium is the active ingredient in Vetoquinol's Zylkene, but I give her Swanson Anti-Stress Lactium, which is the same stuff at lower cost.
I hope Jaxon does better than you expect tonight. Poor dog (and poor you being concerned for him).

I am really touched. About half an hour ago I heard the basement door open. I was sure it was my husband coming up to get something. But it was Joule coming up to get me! She would not leave me alone until I headed down the hall toward the basement with her. Then she hustled down the stairs. She really is taking over as my protector and companion.
Now to start the livestream of the city's fireworks (with sound off!).
