@ascentale @uxMark @bikenite #BikeNite A3. Although a mountain bike set up for urban riding is a lot more practical, I really do like a road bike set up for touring more than a mountain bike (because you can get places a lot faster!). What I give up is the ability to go over bumpy sidewalks and over some gravel. Perhaps, maybe a wide tired gravel bike set up for touring (panniers etc.), but I haven't tried a gravel bike yet.

@ascentale @uxMark @bikenite similar to Q5, I'd stick with my steel frame hybrid, but maybe I'd swap the Jones H-Bars for drop bars. I don't really feel like I'm giving anything up except that it's a bit harder to carry it down the stairs to the subway than my carbon road bike, but it's more comfortable and I can go (almost) as fast on it, but I can do it for longer. Plus it can take 4 panniers and some stuff slung over the rack for a full grocery load, also it can tow the trailer if I need even more. If I want some fun I can throw some wider tires on and do a gravel ride. I've even done some light single track on it (which was dumb, but whatever). I barely use anything else these days, which is kind of sad. That said, I would hate to give up proper mountain biking, not that I have the money or time to go anymore.

@ascentale @uxMark @bikenite My main bike is basically it, a 2019 Bulls Evo, 250W electric Class 1 Assist, I haul cargo, I go places I want to go, generally it's pretty dang good.

I _would_ like a heavy cargo/heavy assist eBike tho'. Something still trails-legal which means always-pedal (I'm 100% fine with that part) but higher wattage for the really heavy loads on hills, and heavier frame so I don't have to worry about it, like, at all.

@ascentale @uxMark @bikenite #bikenite A3, if I had to get rid of all bikes but one I’d keep the 95 Specialized Rock Hopper. It has a beautiful chro-mo steel frame, a super sturdy 3 x 7 drive train and bombproof 26 inch wheels. It makes an excellent gravel bike, a decent mountain bike, and a good bike packing bike. It sucks at fast paved road riding but I don’t do that much anymore because I really like to avoid cars and trucks. Parts are hilariously cheap.
